The brewing process >
What's apparently out of step with the spirit of the times is standard practice for Zoller-Hof: a focus on the region and continuity in our business relationships!

What's more, these relationships between Zoller-Hof and many landlord families effortlessly span the generations. Associations lasting 70, 80 or even 90 years are not uncommon.

The economic upturn between 1950 and 1970 also gave the Zoller-Hof Brewery a healthy sales boost. Beer consumption rose, Zoller-Hof blossomed – and grew.

For 20 years brewing and building continued apace: a bottling plant, office buildings, brewing room, storage and fermentation cellar. Naturally the sales area was also substantially expanded. The town boundaries had long since been outgrown and lovers of Zoller-Hof beer could also be found outside Swabia.

Peter Fleischhut was given his first shares in the family business as early as his 18th birthday. He prepared himself conscientiously for his life's work and studied his trade in Weihenstephan. He joined the brewery in 1960 at the age of 26, becoming the boss and main shareholder 22 years later. In August 2001 he initiated the changeover to the new generation, handing over the majority of the company's shares to the eldest of his 3 daughters.

For the first time since 1845 a woman is running the business affairs of the Zoller-Hof private brewery. After the family business had been run by men for five generations, company boss Peter Fleischhut (67) has now handed the reins to his eldest daughter.

Claudia Sieben has been with the company since August 2001. Together with her father, an experienced loyal workforce and committed new comrades-in-arms, she has begun the tricky balancing act of holding on to the tried-and-tested while simultaneously targeting new goals!

At the end of 2002 managing partner Peter Fleischhut left the company and began his well-earned retirement. The new management team is composed of owner Claudia Sieben and director Ralf Rakel. However, Peter Fleischhut will still be available to Zoller-Hof in future in a support role. The transition to the next generation of management is thus complete.

The new management team continues to build on customer-focused commitment and partnership-based, forward-looking collaboration with sales middlemen. Today, more than ever before, there is a demand for new methods, niche marketing, personalised services and solid personal commitment.

For several decades already the brewery has succeeded in maintaining its established position in the premium sector of the fiercely-contested beer market.

Both visually and via a large number of imaginative activities, Zoller-Hof propagates its slogan with the accent on pleasure - "Lust auf unser Bier!"

The management team of Claudia Sieben and Ralf Rakel, along with master brewer Werner Dück, have every reason to smile – the new brand and advertising message "Lust auf unser Bier!" is going down well with the devotees of Zoller-Hof beer.
